Hiking to Bukit Botak, the Bald Hill

On the route to Pucak Alam, you will pass by a lovely green hill with a "bald" top. The natives refer to it as Bukit Botak, which means "Bald Hill." My family and I went there to investigate Bukit Botak since it is so distinct from the other neighboring hills with beautiful foliage.

Gundul Hill can be climbed from two points: the UiTM campus and a construction site, which is where we started. Because both places are on private property, you must obtain permission from the owner to enter. The hill is owned by the state (owned by government).

Because there are few trees along the route, we began our hike around 7:30 a.m., before the sun rose too high in the sky.

We began by taking a 15-minute stroll in a wooded area near the foothill. Keep your eyes peeled for a snake hiding nearby. There is no such thing as a forest leech. The hiking track has a gentle incline. The route is roughly 1.5 kilometres long and takes less than an hour to complete. It is not difficult, but it may be exhausting. The primary issue is the heat. To avoid dehydration, bring 1 litre of water with you.

The view near the top is one of my favorite. It looks like a meeting point of blue sky and green hill, lovely.

  1. Easy but the trail to look for tree is deep and need to climb to get up.
